About Us

MLB Toolbox stems from Boston University-led pay-versus-performance research launched in Fall 2025 and released in May 2026. Initially analyzing historical player salaries and stats to evaluate market value, we developed a "Fair Value" methodology that now powers our core analyses. Today, MLB Toolbox supports roster construction, team and player comparisons, and custom, constraint-based team building for front office leadership and fans. Research goal remains to provide analysis, tools and transparency that help improve the game of baseball.
